A Physician-Led Medical Spa Reached From Pacifica
Many of our patients already come to us from Pacifica, Montara and Half Moon Bay. There are few medical spas along the coast, and we have built our scheduling around the trip.
The drive, honestly
It is 12 to 16 miles depending on where in Pacifica you start, and roughly 22 to 27 minutes at free flow. The usual route is Interstate 280 north, Interstate 380 east and US-101 south, with Skyline Boulevard, Interstate 280 and El Camino Real as an alternative that is about a mile shorter.
Neither route goes near the US-101 and Highway 92 interchange that Caltrans is rebuilding through summer 2028.
We will not tell you it is an easy drive at every hour. Highway 1 through Pacifica, Interstate 380 and parts of Interstate 280 and US-101 all carry heavy traffic at commute times. The heaviest periods are generally weekday mornings from about 7 to 9, and late afternoon into the evening.
How we schedule Pacifica patients
We generally accommodate Pacifica, Montara and Half Moon Bay patients at off-peak commute hours wherever we can, so your trip is not spent in the heaviest traffic. If you tell us when you book where you are coming from, we will take that into account.
There is no practical train or BART connection from Pacifica, so this is a driving trip. When you arrive, parking is private, on-site and free.
Central Silicon Valley, without the drive into San Francisco
Many people on the Peninsula assume the good options are in San Francisco, and that getting there means bridge traffic and a garage. We are in the middle of the Peninsula, reachable from Interstate 280 or US-101, with private on-site parking at no cost. San Mateo Caltrain station is 0.80 miles away, about a 15-minute walk.

MD Laser and Cosmetics was founded in 2006 and has been at this San Mateo address for over 18 years. Your consultation is with Dr. Susan Lin herself, trained in obstetrics and gynecology and practising since 1991. She is fluent in Mandarin. She performs every treatment personally. Most patients come for Botox, Dysport and dermal fillers, with an emphasis on natural results. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00, by appointment. The $150 new-patient consultation is applied toward same-day treatment, in person or by video.
