What we offer
A small, appointment-only practice where every consultation is with Dr. Susan Lin herself, at the same San Mateo address for over 18 years. You are seen at a fixed time, by the same physician, with no rotating roster. Many of our patients come for exactly that continuity.
The drive
It is 21 miles and about 31 minutes at free flow by US-101 north. That route passes through the stretch where Caltrans is rebuilding the US-101 and Highway 92 interchange through summer 2028, so allow more time at commute hours.
The alternative is Interstate 280 north and Highway 92 east, which is about 24 miles and 34 minutes at free flow and does not pass through that work zone. Which is better depends on the day.
By train, Caltrain from San Antonio or Mountain View is roughly 23 to 31 minutes to San Mateo, plus a 15-minute walk, so it is longer than driving. Most Los Altos patients drive; parking here is private, on-site and free.
Easy to find, easy to park
We are in central San Mateo, reachable from US-101 or Interstate 280, with private on-site parking at no cost. San Mateo Caltrain station is 0.80 miles away, about a 15-minute walk.
The same physician, for over 18 years
MD Laser and Cosmetics was founded in 2006 and has been at this San Mateo address for over 18 years. Your consultation is with Dr. Susan Lin herself, trained in obstetrics and gynecology and practising since 1991. She is fluent in Mandarin. She performs every treatment personally. Most patients come for Botox, Dysport and dermal fillers, with an emphasis on natural results. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00, by appointment. The $150 new-patient consultation is applied toward same-day treatment, in person or by video.
