The drive, with two routes
It is about 22 miles and 31 to 35 minutes at free flow, depending on where in the Town you start and which route you take. Across the Town the range is roughly 21 to 26 miles and 30 to 37 minutes.
Interstate 280 north and Highway 92 east is about 21.7 miles and 31.5 minutes, and it does not pass through the US-101 and Highway 92 interchange that Caltrans is rebuilding through summer 2028.
US-101 north is about 22.5 miles and 35 minutes, and it runs through that work zone, so it can be slower at commute hours.
Neither is an easy drive at every hour, and we would rather say so. Parking when you arrive is private, on-site and free.
By train, San Antonio station is a short drive from Los Altos Hills, and Caltrain from there takes roughly 24 to 28 minutes to San Mateo, followed by a 15-minute walk to our door. That is longer door to door than driving, so it suits people who are already on Caltrain.

Experience. Dr. Lin is experienced with Asian skin types and with all skin types, and laser and IPL settings are matched to skin type at consultation. She is fluent in Mandarin, and consultations can be held in Mandarin.
There are good practices closer to home, and we will not pretend otherwise. If proximity matters most to you, that is a fair way to choose.
Easy to find, easy to park
We are in central San Mateo, reachable from US-101 or Interstate 280, with private on-site parking at no cost. San Mateo Caltrain station is 0.80 miles away, about a 15-minute walk.

MD Laser and Cosmetics was founded in 2006 and has been at this San Mateo address for over 18 years. Your consultation is with Dr. Susan Lin herself, trained in obstetrics and gynecology and practising since 1991. She is fluent in Mandarin. She performs every treatment personally. Most patients come for Botox, Dysport and dermal fillers, with an emphasis on natural results. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00, by appointment. The $150 new-patient consultation is applied toward same-day treatment, in person or by video.
