A Physician-Led Medical Spa 11 Miles From Brisbane

Brisbane is the shortest drive of any community we serve from the north: 11.4 miles, about 15 minutes at free flow, straight down US-101 south.

Built for a workday

Brisbane’s business parks at Sierra Point and along Valley Drive provide more jobs than the town has residents, roughly 7,200 jobs against about 4,700 people, according to federal commuting data. Many people who work in Brisbane live elsewhere on the Peninsula or in San Francisco.

If that includes you, Botox and Dysport involve no downtime, so an appointment can fit around a working day. Filler can involve 24 to 48 hours of possible swelling or bruising depending on the area and how much is used, so plan the days afterwards if you are having filler.

The drive

US-101 south from Brisbane exits at East Poplar Avenue, north of the interchange that Caltrans is rebuilding through summer 2028, so that project does not sit on your route. The freeway is heavy at commute times, so leave extra time then. Parking when you arrive is private, on-site and free.

Transit is not competitive from Brisbane. The nearest Caltrain stop is Bayshore, just over the county line, and the ride plus the walk from San Mateo station is longer than the drive.

Central Silicon Valley, without the drive into San Francisco

Many people on the Peninsula assume the good options are in San Francisco, and that getting there means bridge traffic and a garage. We are in the middle of the Peninsula, reachable from Interstate 280 or US-101, with private on-site parking at no cost. San Mateo Caltrain station is 0.80 miles away, about a 15-minute walk.

The same physician, for over 18 years

MD Laser and Cosmetics was founded in 2006 and has been at this San Mateo address for over 18 years. Your consultation is with Dr. Susan Lin herself, trained in obstetrics and gynecology and practising since 1991. She is fluent in Mandarin. She performs every treatment personally. Most patients come for Botox, Dysport and dermal fillers, with an emphasis on natural results. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00, by appointment. The $150 new-patient consultation is applied toward same-day treatment, in person or by video.

Can I come on my lunch break?

For Botox or Dysport, often yes, since there is no downtime. Allow more time for the drive at midday than you might expect and book a fixed appointment time with us.

Is there a train?

Bayshore Caltrain is nearby, but the train plus the 15-minute walk from San Mateo station takes longer than driving. Most patients drive.
