We are a small practice. Appointments are individually scheduled, and you are seen by the same physician each time rather than moving between staff. If privacy matters to you, tell us when you book and we will arrange the timing.
Most of what we do is quiet work: Botox and Dysport placed conservatively, and filler used to restore volume rather than add it. Dr. Susan Lin has practised medicine since 1991 and has been at this same San Mateo address for over 18 years. She was board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She performs every treatment personally.
Getting here
12.8 miles, about 21 minutes without traffic, northbound on US-101, the nearest of the four Peninsula towns in this group. At commute hours it will be slower, since that route passes through the US-101 and Highway 92 interchange being rebuilt through summer 2028. Interstate 280 is the alternative if you prefer it.
A note on the train: Atherton’s Caltrain station closed in December 2020, and it only ever had weekend service in its last years, so it never served a weekday appointment. Menlo Park and Redwood City are the nearest stations. Most Atherton patients drive.
There is private on-site parking at the practice at no cost, so no street parking and no meters.

We are in central San Mateo, reachable from Interstate 280 or US-101, with private on-site parking at no cost. Many patients want a reputable, private practice rather than a large chain; at many chain clinics treatment is delivered by nurses, nurse practitioners or physician assistants. MD Laser and Cosmetics was founded in 2006 and has been at this San Mateo address for over 18 years. Your consultation is with Dr. Susan Lin herself, trained in obstetrics and gynecology and practising since 1991. She is fluent in Mandarin. She performs every treatment personally. Most patients come for Botox, Dysport and dermal fillers, with an emphasis on natural results. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00, by appointment. The $150 new-patient consultation is applied toward same-day treatment, in person or by video.
